:::ABOUT THE DIRECTOR::::::::::::::::::::::::

I currently work at Wayne State University’s video production house in Detroit, Michigan. For the past nineteen(!) years I’ve been a college DJ at WHFR 89.3FM in Dearborn where I host the “Skrockin’ Yer Butow...” program. Several years ago, while working on a play, I found myself with a ton of spare time, and assembled a bunch of clippings about Patty Duke and made the first Patty Duke Fanzine (kinda as a joke but mostly out of boredom). It’s now turned into a really good excuse to ask some of my favorite bands to cover Patty Duke songs for me. That project transformed Top Quality Rock & Roll, my record label/multimedia production company, from wishful thinking into reality.

The Loneliest Little Boy in the World, dir. Mike Dereniewski. This is another brief little film, this time a woman ó a priestess, perhaps? ó worships a giant pigís head stuck on a post. She derives ecstasy during her ritual and her intense passion causes the pigís head to burst into flames. Like Extase de chair brisee, thereís an unsettling abstract soundtrack made up of Satanic backwards chanting and various distorted grunts and yells. The message: Those that worship you the most will eventually just burn you out.

For the third year, the Nihilist Cultural Foundation presents the Nihilist International Film Festival. The festival was created to be a venue for the kind of filmmakers and fans who do not feel welcome at those other festivals. "If you want to see something that would frighten and anger your parents, come on by," says director Elisha Shapiro...
